Special congress on informatics research in Germany at the University of Karlsruhe Between April and July 2007, the Faculty of Informatics at the University of Karlsruhe held a series of lectures under the banner of Special congress on informatics research in Germany on the university's premises. The lectures covered 30 years of research into informatics whereby service robotics and MMI formed the main focus of the 1990s. |
On 10.07.2007, Prof. Rüdiger Dillmann held a guest lecture on the subject of informatics research from 2000 to 2006 during which DESIRE was also presented. The basic lectures were held by former secretary, Prof. Bernd Reuse. The lectures will be published in a special volume due out in October 2007. International robot award goes to Martin Hägele On 13 June 2007, Martin Hägele, Head of the Robot Systems department at Fraunhofer IPA in Stuttgart, was awarded the internationally acclaimed "Joseph Engelberg Award" at the International Robotic Symposium that took place at the same time as the International Robots and Vision Show and Conference was held in Rosemont (Chicago). |
Following Prof. Warnecke and Prof. Schraft, Martin Hägeleis the third member of Fraunhofer IPA to receive the accolade. The award was given in recognition of Martin Hägele's, outstanding research achievements which have attracted attention not only in Germany but throughout the world of robotics.
