The company was founded in Lauffen am Neckar in 1945 by Friedrich Schunk. Having initially produced brake drums and fly wheels, the company consistently shifted its core competencies more towards development, manufacture and the improvement of production methods. In addition to its flexible robot applications, SCHUNK sells robot accessories, which, thanks to their modular technology, enable interaction between the robot arm and tool to take place.
